Real Estate Appraisal Expert Witness in Orange County
When a property value is part of the dispute, the appraisal has to hold up after the report is delivered: in a deposition, in front of a judge, and against the other side's number.

What We Do for Counsel
Mat Just is a California State Certified Residential Appraiser (BREA License #AR029995).
Appraisal reports written for litigation. Every report sets out the scope, the data and the reasoning, so opposing counsel can follow it, and so can the court.
Deposition testimony. Mat explains how the value was reached and answers questions about the method, the comparable sales and the adjustments.
Court and trial testimony.
Values as of a past date. Date of separation, date of loss, date of a transfer, or another date counsel specifies. See Litigation Support.
Review of the other side's appraisal. See Litigation Support.
Cases We Work On
Divorce and family law. The marital home, rentals and buyout values. See Divorce Appraisal.
Estate and trust disputes. Date of death values that heirs or trustees disagree on. See Date of Death Appraisal.
Partnership and co-owner disputes.
Real estate disputes. Disclosure, construction defect or damage claims where the value before and after matters.
Why an Independent Appraiser Matters
Our appraisals are independent of the outcome. The value is the value, whichever side ordered the report. That's what makes it credible when it's challenged.
Mat is the principal appraiser on every assignment. He built this practice around one standard: the kind of work that holds up in court, satisfies a CPA, and doesn't come back with questions. His experience, his standards, his signature, and his word are behind every report that leaves this office.
